CentHER Court Conversations is a virtual space for our community to learn, share, and grow together. Our purpose is multi-faceted: to provide professional development learning opportunities, cultivate a safe and supportive space for individuals interested in presenting, and continue creating meaningful opportunities tailored to women, all while strengthening connection and community.

How to Run Large-scale Tournaments and Events

Join Trish Faulkner and special guests Bunny Bruning, Jenny Gray, and Kristine Mendivil for an insider’s look at what it takes to successfully bid for, plan, and execute large-scale tournaments and events. Drawing from their extensive experience, the group will share strategies, lessons learned, and key considerations for securing events, managing logistics, building strong partnerships, and delivering exceptional participant experiences.

About our Speakers

Trish Faulkner is immediate past president of the RSPA and recently retired as Tennis Professional Emeritus at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens. FL. She was tournament chairperson of the 2014 ITF Senior World Championships and tournament director for the 2014 and 2022 ITF World Championships. Previously, she was head tour director and marketing director for the WTA, and founded a sports marketing and special events corporation, Triosports International Inc., operating four Virginia Slims Women’s Professional Tour events. She authored The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Tennis and created a teaching manual and slideshow for the ITF in the Middle East. Trish captured multiple titles on the Women’s Tour, including the British Indoor Doubles and Mixed Doubles. She earned 36 U.S. national senior titles, ranked No. 1 in three senior divisions, was ITF World Singles Champion, and helped the U.S. win four ITF World Team Championships.

Bunny Bruning is the founder and president of Women Coaching Racquet Sports, an organization dedicated to educating, mentoring, inspiring and empowering women to become coaches in racquet sports. A RSPA Master Professional, Bunny recently retired after 42 years as Tennis Director at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, IA. She continues to lead impactful programs like the middle school initiative and Bunny’s Buddies, a free program for mentally and physically challenged people. Bunny served as RSPA National Vice President from 2009-2011 and was named 2025 RSPA Alex Gordon Professional of the Year. She was named RSPA Missouri Valley Professional of the Year five times and was inducted into both the Iowa Tennis and Missouri Valley Halls of Fame. In 2024 she was a Champions of Equality honoree. Bunny competed on the professional tennis tour, achieving world rankings of #41 in singles and #11 in doubles.

Jenny Gray is a RSPA Master Professional and Vice President of the RSPA National Board. She serves as the Director of Tennis at The Club at Sonterra in San Antonio, TX, where she brings thoughtful leadership and a strong sense of community to her role. Her involvement with RSPA has included serving as Texas President and contributing to national initiatives that support the growth of the sport. Jenny’s work has been recognized with honors such as the RSPA Texas Professional of the Year (2012 and 2020) and the RSPA National Alex Gordon Tennis Professional of the Year in 2020.

Kristine Mendivil is the Director of Racquet Sports at The Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, where she oversees a thriving racquet sports program. An RSPA-certified tennis and pickleball teaching professional, Kristine serves as a RSPA Florida District Vice President and recently completed the USTA Florida Leadership Academy. She has also partnered with the International Tennis Federation as a host site leader for the ITF Masters World Team & Individual Championships and supports numerous USTA junior tournaments and community initiatives.
